Finding a barber in Singapore is easy. Finding one you stop searching for is not. Most guys cycle through three or four shops before landing somewhere that gets the fade right, remembers how short you like the top, and does not treat a beard as an afterthought.
So we went through the barbershops we have actually researched across the island and pulled the ones that hold up: strong Google ratings, real grooming menus beyond a ten-minute clipper run, and enough regulars to trust. They are spread from Orchard to Kampong Glam to Tanjong Katong, so there is probably one near you.
Every shop here can be booked through Glamingo, which matters more than it sounds. Plenty of the best barbers in Singapore still run on walk-ins and text messages.
What Separates a Barber From a Haircut
The gap between a $15 heartland trim and a proper barbershop is not the price, it is the consultation. A good barber asks how you style it at home, looks at how your hair actually grows, and cuts to that instead of to a photo. Fades in particular are unforgiving. The blend either sits clean against the skin or it does not.
The other half is grooming. A real barbershop treats beard work as its own craft, with razor finishes, hot towels and shaping done to your jaw rather than to a straight line. That is the part most salons skip, and it is the reason the shops below keep their regulars for years.

1. His & Her Hairloft by Jamie

Best for: A men’s cut and colour in the same chair, booked in seconds
The one place here that is live on Glamingo, so it is the only shop on this list you can book instantly rather than requesting. It is a unisex Orchard salon rather than a traditional barbershop, and that is the point: founder and lead hair artist Jamie Lai built it around colour as much as cutting, so greys, a root touch-up or highlights get handled properly alongside the men’s cut. A flawless five-star average across hundreds of reviews is rare at that volume.

2. NYO Studios

Best for: Hair that needs more than a cut
NYO carries a perfect Google rating across more than a thousand reviews, which almost nothing in this category manages. Founder Aliff Azman, known to regulars as Captain, works the floor as master barber, and the menu runs past cuts into perms and scalp treatment, so it suits anyone whose hair problem is texture rather than length. The shop sits in a North Bridge Road shophouse on the edge of Kampong Glam.

3. Gentleman’s Cuts

Best for: A full grooming session close to work
Three outlets, all rated 4.9 or better: the Tanglin Mall flagship, a Marina One unit for the downtown crowd, and a heritage shophouse on Ann Siang Road. Founder Jin Wen Lau runs a two-tier menu so you can book a barber or a head barber depending on the day, with cuts around the $65 to $90 mark and beard trims finished either with a razor or clippers. Reviewers regularly come out having had cut, beard trim and colour done in one sitting.

4. Jermyn Street

Best for: The traditional English barbershop experience
Open on Amoy Street since 2014, Jermyn Street is modelled on the London street of the same name and is the only recognised overseas member of its association. The range is unusually wide for a shop of this style, from a buzz cut in the low thirties to a signature haircut around $69 and a full combination package. Beard trims are the single most-mentioned service in its reviews, along with the head wash and complimentary drink that come with the sitting.

5. Holy Grail Barbershop

Best for: A fade in Orchard that does not cost Orchard money
Tucked on the third floor of Orchard Plaza, Holy Grail moved over from Bukit Timah and brought its regulars with it. Head barber Spaghetti is named repeatedly in reviews for fades and beard work, and the sitting ends the old-school way with a hot towel. Being upstairs in an older mall is exactly why it stays reasonable while sitting a few minutes from Somerset MRT.

6. Artist Barber

Best for: Knowing exactly who is cutting your hair before you arrive
The tagline is “Barbers By Trade. Artists By Nature.”, and the shop backs it with the cleanest booking setup on this list: you choose your barber, date and time in advance rather than taking whoever is free. Ruban is the barber most reviewers ask for by name. Precision cuts, hot towel shaves and beard sculpting are the core, in a dark, upscale unit inside Kinex Mall in Tanjong Katong.

7. Fearless Image & Grooming

Best for: Skin fades and the fine detail work
The newest shop here, opened in 2025 on Race Course Road, and already holding a perfect rating. Barber Jay, previously a co-founder at another well-known Singapore barbershop, brought a following with him: reviewers describe cutting with him for years and single out the attention his beard work gets. Skin fades, clean cuts and colour are the mix, in a space regulars keep calling out for how spotless it is.

Booking It
The awkward part of finding a good barber in Singapore has never been the cut, it is getting into the chair. The best shops are small, the good barbers get booked out, and a lot of them still run on walk-ins and messages that go unanswered until closing.
That is what a Glamingo request fixes. Pick the shop, the service and a time that works, send the request, and the barbershop confirms. It works even for the smaller shops that take no online booking anywhere else, so you are not stuck refreshing an Instagram page hoping someone replies.
