How Much Does a Keratin Treatment Cost in Singapore? (2026 Price Guide)

How Much Does a Keratin Treatment Cost in Singapore?

Most salons in Singapore charge about $190 to $300 for a keratin treatment. Entry prices start from around $110, and long hair at a premium salon can cost $400 to $500. Across the 23 salon menus we reviewed, the typical starting price was about $240.

Keratin is the go-to for frizz in Singapore’s humidity, but prices vary more than almost any other hair service. This guide explains what you’ll actually pay, why, and how keratin compares with rebonding on cost over time.

If you’re still deciding whether keratin is right for your hair, our keratin treatment guide explains what it fixes (and what it doesn’t).

Keratin Treatment Prices in Singapore at a Glance

We looked at keratin prices on 23 Singapore salon menus in our marketplace research, from neighbourhood salons to Orchard and CBD studios.

Tier Price (short hair) Share of salons What’s usually different
Entry $110 to $150 About 1 in 5 Express or basic keratin, often a promo or first-visit rate
Mid-range $190 to $300 About 7 in 10 Full keratin smoothing, priced by hair length
Premium $330 to $500 A few, plus most long-hair prices Senior stylists, branded or formaldehyde-free systems, long or thick hair

The middle of the market is about $240 for short hair. Long hair usually adds $50 to $100.

A keratin treatment costs a bit more than rebonding at the entry level. On the menus we reviewed, rebonding’s typical starting price was about $200 against keratin’s $240. Our rebonding price guide has the full breakdown.

What You’re Paying For

A keratin treatment coats and smooths the outside of each hair strand, then seals it in with a flat iron. It tames frizz and cuts blow-dry time without changing your hair’s structure the way rebonding does. That’s why it’s gentler, and also why it fades.

A typical appointment:

1. Clarifying wash to open up the hair’s surface
2. Keratin solution applied section by section
3. Blow-dry until fully dry
4. Flat iron to seal the treatment in, section by section
5. Rinse and style, depending on the formula

Expect two to three hours in the chair, longer for long or thick hair. Most of the price is that time.

What Pushes the Price Up

1. Hair length.
The single biggest factor. Two real examples from the menus we reviewed: $198 short, $248 medium, $298 long at one salon, and $300, $330 and $380 at another. Budget $50 to $100 more if your hair is long.

2. Hair thickness and texture.
Very thick or very curly hair takes more product and more ironing time.

3. The formula.
Some keratin products release formaldehyde when heated, which is why the US FDA has flagged hair smoothing products that release formaldehyde. Formaldehyde-free formulas are widely available and are often the ones sold at a premium. It’s worth asking which formula the salon uses, and whether the room is well ventilated.

4. Express vs full treatment.
Some salons offer a shorter, lighter “express” keratin at a lower price. It’s a good trial run, but it usually doesn’t last as long.

5. Stylist level.
Senior or top stylists often cost more, and some salons add a surcharge for their top stylist.

6. “++” pricing.
A price like “$269++” means GST, and sometimes a service charge, is added on top. Ask whether the price is nett.

How Much Does Keratin Cost per Month?

This is where keratin and rebonding really differ.

Keratin fades gradually, usually lasting two to six months, with most people getting about three to four. At $240 a session every three to four months, you’re looking at roughly $60 to $80 a month to keep your hair smooth all year.

Rebonding lasts until the hair grows out, with a root touch-up every four to six months. At a typical $200 to $300, that’s closer to $40 to $60 a month.

Keratin treatment Rebonding
Typical price (short hair) ~$240 ~$200
How long it lasts 2 to 6 months, then fades Permanent on treated hair
Repeat visits Every 3 to 4 months Root touch-up every 4 to 6 months
Rough cost per month $60 to $80 $40 to $60
Changes hair structure? No Yes

So keratin often costs more over a year. What you’re paying for is flexibility and a gentler service: softer, more natural movement, no commitment, and nothing to grow out. Our keratin vs rebonding comparison helps you decide which is right for your hair.

How to Make a Keratin Treatment Last (and Get Your Money’s Worth)

  • Follow the wash wait your stylist gives you. Some formulas need two to three days before the first wash, and some newer ones allow washing the next day.
  • Switch to a sulphate-free shampoo. Sulphates strip the treatment faster.
  • Avoid chlorine and salt water where you can, or rinse straight after swimming.
  • Wash a little less often. Every wash wears the coating down.
  • Colour before, not after. Many stylists colour first so the keratin seals over it. Ask yours.

How to Get a Fair Price

  • Ask for the price for your hair length, not the “from” price.
  • Ask what the formula is, and whether it’s formaldehyde-free.
  • Check what’s included: is a haircut or aftercare shampoo part of it? Is it nett or “++”?
  • Try one session before a package. Package pressure is a common theme in CASE’s beauty complaint figures.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much is a keratin treatment in Singapore?

Most Singapore salons charge about $190 to $300 for a keratin treatment on short hair, and the typical starting price across the 23 menus we reviewed is about $240. Entry prices start from around $110. Long hair usually adds $50 to $100, reaching $400 to $500 at premium salons.

Is keratin more expensive than rebonding?

Slightly per visit, and noticeably over a year. Typical starting prices are about $240 for keratin and $200 for rebonding. Keratin fades and needs repeating every three to four months, around $60 to $80 a month, while rebonding needs only a root touch-up, around $40 to $60 a month.

Why do keratin prices vary so much between salons?

Hair length is the biggest factor, followed by thickness, the formula and the stylist’s level. Formaldehyde-free and branded systems often cost more, express keratin costs less, and some salons add GST and service charge on top of a “++” price. Always ask for the price for your hair length.

Is a Brazilian blowout the same as a keratin treatment?

A Brazilian blowout is one brand-name type of keratin smoothing treatment. Some versions contain ingredients that release formaldehyde when heated, which the US FDA has flagged as a concern. If you’re booking one, ask the salon which formula it uses and whether a formaldehyde-free option is available.

How often do I need a keratin treatment?

Most people rebook every three to four months, once frizz returns at the roots and blow-drying takes longer again. Express treatments fade sooner, often in six to eight weeks. Sulphate-free shampoo and washing two or three times a week help you stretch the time between appointments.
