Orchard Road is the obvious place for a beauty day in Singapore, and also the easiest one to get wrong. The strip runs for more than two kilometres from Plaza Singapura at Dhoby Ghaut, past Somerset and the Orchard Central and Orchard Gateway malls, all the way up to Ngee Ann City, Lucky Plaza and Far East Plaza on Scotts Road. Somewhere along that stretch is a salon for every budget, from Korean hair studios with a café attached to tiny owner-run nail and lash rooms where a gel set costs less than lunch. Add kopitiam toast, one of Singapore’s oldest food courts and a cocktail bar in a 1910 shophouse, and you have a full day.
This is not a listicle. It is a proper guide to building a beauty day out on Orchard Road, from your first appointment to your last, with the best spots to know for each treatment category.
Why Orchard Road Works for a Beauty Day
Three MRT stations, Dhoby Ghaut, Somerset and Orchard, sit along the same road, and most of the beauty salons on Orchard Road are a short, sheltered walk from one of them. The trick is to treat the strip as two clusters rather than one long mall crawl: the Somerset end for hair and facials, and the Orchard and Scotts Road end, where Far East Plaza and Lucky Plaza hold the densest concentration of nail, lash and brow studios on the island. Start at one end, finish at the other, and the walking takes care of itself.
What makes Orchard different from a neighbourhood like Katong is the price range. The polished malls carry the premium names, while the older buildings, Far East Plaza and Lucky Plaza in particular, are full of small independent studios charging close to heartland prices. A good day out here mixes the two: spend where it counts, save where it does not, and you will rarely leave Orchard Road to do either.
Morning: Start with a Hair Salon in Orchard
Walking On Sunshine

Walking On Sunshine at Orchard Central is a Korean hair salon and café under one roof, a few minutes from Somerset MRT. It sounds like a gimmick until you sit down: the café side makes waiting and processing time far more pleasant, and the stylists work in the Korean style, with soft layers, gentle colour and the volume perms that Korean salons do so well on Asian hair.
If you have been searching for a Somerset hair salon that feels relaxed rather than intimidating, this is a good first booking, especially for first-timers. Book a weekday morning if you can. The salon adds a weekend surcharge, and a 10am weekday slot gives you a quiet room and a clear run at the rest of the day. There is also a head spa section if you want to add a scalp treatment.
Location: 181 Orchard Road, #03-07, Orchard Central, Singapore 238896 Price range: Additional $30 surcharge on Saturdays and Sundays; confirm cut and colour prices when booking.
Opening hours: Sunday to Friday 10am to 8pm, Saturday 10:30am to 8pm

Intensity Hair Salon

For a good hair salon in Orchard without the Orchard price tag, head up Scotts Road to Intensity Hair Salon in Far East Plaza. It is one of the best-loved independent hair names in the building, known for perms, colour and balayage, and it shows what Far East Plaza does best: serious skill in a no-frills setting, from a team that clients follow for years.
Intensity takes appointments, which is worth doing for colour work, since the best Far East Plaza stylists book out ahead on weekends. Starting your day here also puts you on the right floor of the right building for nails straight afterwards.
Location: 14 Scotts Road, #04-78, Far East Plaza, Singapore 228213
Opening hours: Daily, 10:30am to 8:30pm
Best for: Perms, colour and balayage at independent-salon prices

Mid-Morning: Far East Plaza Nails
SuSu The Nails Story

Far East Plaza has more nail salons than most people realise exist, and SuSu The Nails Story on the fourth floor is the one people tend to mention first. It has built its following on detailed nail art and on matching inspo pictures closely, so bring a screenshot rather than a description.
Express gel is quick and fairly priced, but the art slots are what fill up, particularly at weekends. If you want a design, book a day or two ahead and arrive with your existing gel removed, or allow extra time for removal.
Location: 14 Scotts Road, #04-83, Far East Plaza, Singapore 228213
Price range: Express gel manicure from $20
Opening hours: Daily, 11am to 9pm
Best for: Nail art, matching an inspo picture

Nail Queen

One floor up, Nail Queen by Michelle Tran spreads across three connected units and is one of the most established nail salons at Far East Plaza. The team is large enough that a manicure or pedicure rarely means a long wait, and the menu goes beyond nails into hand and foot spa treatments and waxing, which makes it a sensible stop if you want a few things done in one sitting.
In 2025 the same team opened a sister brand, Diora Spa by Michelle Tran, also in Far East Plaza, so if you want to stretch the nail appointment into something more restful, you will not need to leave the building.
Location: 14 Scotts Road, #05-18/19/20, Far East Plaza, Singapore 228213
Best for: Manicures, pedicures and waxing in one visit

Lunch Break
Orchard has no shortage of places to eat, but a few are worth walking to between appointments.
Jollibee at Lucky Plaza, now in the basement, is the Filipino fast-food favourite in the mall that doubles as the Filipino community’s weekend meeting place, and the floors above have plenty more Filipino food if you want to explore. Food Republic at Wisma Atria on level 4 is the chain’s original outlet and still one of the most convenient food courts on the strip, with Old Amoy Chendol for afterwards. Killiney Kopitiam on Killiney Road, a short walk from Somerset, does old-school kaya toast and kopi if you would rather keep lunch light. For something Japanese, the Takashimaya Food Hall in the basement of Ngee Ann City is right across the road.
Afternoon: Facial
Beauty 21

Beauty 21 has its flagship on the basement level of Orchard Gateway, which connects directly to Somerset MRT. It is a long-established Singapore beauty salon with facials at the centre of its menu, alongside an acne facial and other skin treatments, and it is the right pick if you want an unhurried, traditional facial. Weekday evening hours also make it easy to book after work.
Location: 277 Orchard Road, #B2-36/37, Orchard Gateway, Singapore 238858 Opening hours: Monday to Friday 11am to 9pm, shorter hours at weekends Book: Book on Glamingo →
Chez Moi de Beaute

If you are staying at the Scotts Road end, Chez Moi de Beaute on the ground floor of Far East Plaza has been doing facials since 1989. The name means “my house of beauty”, and the clientele is loyal in the way you would expect from a salon that has been around that long.
The main draw is a published menu, with basic facials starting under $100, which takes the guesswork out of booking. As with any Orchard facial, treat the first visit as a trial and decide on packages later, at home.
Location: 14 Scotts Road, #01-91/92, Far East Plaza, Singapore 228213
Price range: Basic facials from under $100
Best for: A good-value facial with clear pricing

Late Afternoon: Lashes and Brows
Ciao Lashes

Ciao Lashes is a lash-only studio on the fourth floor of Far East Plaza, with no nail or facial services pulling focus. A technician who spends the whole day on lash extensions is usually a safer bet than a generalist, and the first-timer rate makes it a low-risk way to try the studio.
A full set takes a while, so this works best as the last long appointment of the day, when you are happy to lie still with your eyes closed.
Location: 14 Scotts Road, #04-72, Far East Plaza, Singapore 228213
Price range: First-timer classic lashes from $50
Best for: Dedicated lash extension appointments

Beau Holic (Far East Plaza)

If brows are the priority, Beau Holic on the fourth floor is a small counter that handles brow embroidery alongside lash extensions and nail art. Reviewers say the embroidery comes out well shaped and close to their own brows, and that lash sets are done in a soft, natural style. Many lash clients have stayed with the same artist for years.
Because it is a small counter, message ahead rather than walking in, and go in with photos of the brow shape you like so the consultation starts from something concrete.
Location: 14 Scotts Road, #04-35, Far East Plaza, Singapore 228213
Opening hours: Monday to Saturday 10am to 8pm, Sunday 10am to 7pm
Best for: Natural-looking brow embroidery, soft lash sets

Far East Plaza is Singapore’s unofficial lash and brow district, and our guide to the best lash and brow studios in Far East Plaza compares ten of them, from lash-only specialists to budget threading.
Evening: Wind Down
Walk back down Orchard Road towards Somerset and turn into Emerald Hill, a quiet street of restored Peranakan terrace houses running up from Cuppage Terrace. No. 5 Emerald Hill, in a shophouse dating from 1910, has been pouring drinks there since the early 1990s, peanut shells on the floor and all, and it is a fitting place to show off a fresh set of nails.
If you are heading home by train, keep walking to Plaza Singapura at Dhoby Ghaut, where the North South, North East and Circle lines meet. The mall is also a useful place for beauty on another day, with a cluster of facial studios, hair salons and waxing names right above the interchange.
Building Your Day: A Sample Itinerary
| Time | What | Where |
|---|---|---|
| 10am | Hair cut or colour | Walking On Sunshine or Intensity Hair Salon |
| 12pm | Nails | SuSu The Nails Story or Nail Queen |
| 1:30pm | Lunch | Jollibee at Lucky Plaza or Food Republic at Wisma Atria |
| 3pm | Facial | Chez Moi de Beaute or Beauty 21 |
| 5pm | Lashes or brows | Ciao Lashes or Beau Holic |
| 7pm | Drinks or dinner | Emerald Hill and Cuppage Terrace |
Not every appointment needs to be on the same day. Many regulars treat Orchard Road as two separate beauty quarters, Somerset for hair and facials, Far East Plaza and Lucky Plaza for nails, lashes and brows, and rotate through them across the month. The mix of premium salons and good-value independents within a single walk is what makes it work.
Find and book all the salons in this guide on Glamingo. Browse by treatment, area, and price range to compare options across Orchard Road and book directly, without the back-and-forth.
